Mount Rinjani Premium Insurance

On March 5, 2026, The Mount Rinjani National Park Office issued new regulations regarding operational standards in the park. One of these regulations requires all foreign visitors to have travel insurance for helicopter evacuation.

This regulation was enacted following numerous accidents in 2025 and as a response to complaints regarding the slow incident response at that time, particularly the evacuation of a Brazilian visitor, Juliana Marin.”

All foreign visitors must have this insurance. However, if you already have your own travel insurance that covers helicopter evacuation, you don’t need to buy it. You just need to provide your insurance details. so all packages of Rinjani Hero the premium insurance is exclude because As most foreign travelers are already covered by personal insurance, they can avoid paying additional fees

Helicopter Evacuation Rules

  • Eligibility: Only visitors in an emergency can be evacuated by helicopter.
  • Assessment: An emergency is officially declared by a doctor after examining the injured visitor.
  • Covered Injuries: Helicopter evacuation applies to serious conditions, such as:
    • Broken bones.
    • Head injuries.
    • Hypothermia or Frostbite (extreme cold).
    • Loss of consciousness.
  • Compensation Limits:
    • Helicopter without Hoist: Up to 135 million.
    • Helicopter with Hoist: Up to 260 million.
  • Excess Costs: If the evacuation cost exceeds these limits, the visitor must pay the remaining balance.

How the evacuation scheme is carried out ?

visitor has an accident – the team EMHC will go to the location of the incident after coordinating – The doctor’s assessment determines the type of evacuation. If it is an emergency, the visitor will be evacuated by helicopter. Otherwise, evacuation will be by land– Hospital.

Insurance Coverage & Contribution

Contribution: IDR 290,000 per person.

Benefits & Compensation:

  1. Death (Natural Causes): IDR 50,000,000
  2. Death (Accidental): IDR 300,000,000
  3. Total Permanent Disability (Accidental): IDR 50,000,000
  4. Partial Permanent Disability (Accidental): Up to IDR 50,000,000
  5. Repatriation of Body (Transportation): Up to IDR 10,000,000
  6. Accidental Medical Treatment:
    • General Treatment : Up to IDR 20,000,000
    • Spinal Cord Injury : Up to 75% of the general treatment limit (subtracted from item 6).

Evacuation & Ambulance (Accidental):Land Evacuation: Covered for areas before or after Senaru/Sembalun crossings and around Segara Anak Lake (up to the maximum limit). Emergency Helicopter (with Hoist): Up to IDR 260,000,000.
